My designs strive to honor the principles of biodiversity. My gardens are naturalistic rather than formal. They feature a variety of shrubs and perennial flowers that bloom in succession over the entire growing season, creating different visual effects and providing habitat for birds and pollinating insects. Wherever suitable I use plants that are native to eastern North America, since they sustain our ecosystem.
